Westbay Solutions is now looking for a driven engineer to design and lead exciting product development projects to success, within the Defense & Government business area.

As a Lead Design Engineer at Westbay Solutions, you will play a central role in planning, organizing, and executing our technical projects from start to finish. You will work closely with our team members and subcontractors to deliver high-quality solutions to our customers.

We are looking for a driven individual with experience in mechanical design work, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage and plan projects. We hope you are passionate about technology, have an eye for detail, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You need to be able to work effectively both independently and in a team. The position requires proficiency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written.

You are expected to have:

  • Good knowledge of mechanical design, for example, in Inventor
  • Work experience in a relevant field
  • Engineering degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent education/experience

Desirable skills:

  • Experience leading a design team
  • Experience with Vault or other PDM systems
  • Experience managing/leading projects from concept to implementation

We are looking for someone with excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills, a high capacity to take initiative and responsibility, and who is comfortable working independently. Furthermore, you need to be development-oriented and enjoy learning new things, as the job is varied and the organization is growing, which means your tasks may evolve over time.

This position is based at Westbay Solutions' facility in Västervik. Remote work is not offered, although the employer can be flexible in the initial stage for those relocating from another area. The position is full-time, permanent employment starting with a probationary period, with access as soon as possible by agreement.
